These fine tendrils have a mild flavor and a crisp texture that
makes them perfect for salads and sandwich fillings. Their mild taste
marries them perfectly to egg, meat or seafood dishes and they are a
great source of protein, fiber and antioxidants. Alfalfa sprouts are
grown in specifically designed 'germinators' with the growing process
taking approximately 96 hours and grown to a length of 50mm - 75mm long.
THE AMAZING ALFALFA PLANT
Alfalfa sprouts have a delicious nut-like flavor and are power-packed
with nutrition. The alfalfa plant itself penetrates its roots deeper
than most other plants on earth. Some alfalfa roots have been traced
into the ground for more than 100 feet. Thus the alfalfa plant brings up
from the earth many minerals and vitamins not found in other foods.
Alfalfa sprouts are a source of vitamins: C, D, E, K, plus a multitude
of trace minerals and living enzymes. Alfalfa sprouts are also an excellent
source of living enzymes.
Sprouts are excellent in sandwiches with
cheese, tuna, or as a
substitute and compliment to lettuce in any of your favorite
dishes. Try our other sprout products such as Chinese bean sprouts,
spicy sprouts, and our new Gourmet sprouts.
